The recruiting process is starting to heat up for rising Manalapan quarterback Michael Bimonte, one of the top returning quarterbacks in the Shore Conference. He already had multiple offers from top Division I-AA programs, but now the 6-foot-3 signal-caller, who threw for over 1,800 yards last year, has now added an offer from Temple, according to Braves coach Tom Gallahue.
Also, after impressing at the recent 7-on-7 tournament at Rutgers, he was invited by the Scarlet Knights’ staff to attend their camp, which he went to on Monday. With the Temple offer already out there, that could certainly prompt the Big East and other Division I-A programs hovering around him to extend him an offer as well. It’s still early, but Rutgers has not secured a commitment for a quarterback in the Class of 2011, so we will see if the Scarlet Knights are next after seeing Bimonte in person this week.
