Holmdel senior 280-pound lineman Kevin Gallogly has committed to Rhode Island as a preferred walk-on and may have a shot at scholarship as a sophomore depending on how he performs as the Rams will graduate 19 scholarship players from next year’s senior class. Rhode Island is a Division I-AA program that competes in the highly-competitive Colonial Athletic Association, which produced 2010 FCS runner-up Delaware and 2009 FCS champion Villanova.

Also making a commitment was All Shore Media second-team All-Conference wideout Taylor Rogers of Middletown South, who has signed with Division II Bentley University, a high academic school that plays in a competitive Division II conference, the Northeast-10 Conference. Rogers finished with 47 catches for 838 yards (17.8 ypc) and 8 touchdowns as the main receiving weapon in Middletown South’s run-oriented flexbone attack and was also an All-Class A North pick by the coaches.
