In addition to the previously reported commitment of senior linebacker/fullback R.J. D’Apolito heading to Marist, several other Ocean Township seniors have also made their commitments, according to head coach Donnie Klein.

Offensive lineman George Sofield, an All Shore Media first-teamer, will continue his career at Carnegie Mellon, and leading receiver/all-around dynamo Brandon Robinson is headed to Wesley College, a strong Division III program. Also, quarterback Christian Bailoni and wide receiver/defensive back Hank Limardo have both committed to Kean University, lineman Shaun Florke is headed to FDU-Florham and tight end Dylan Kren is going to Wittenberg University in Springfield, Ohio.

As for the returning players for a team that has drawn one of the most brutal schedules in the Shore Conference in 2010 as part of the newly created and  highly-competitive Class B North, current junior lineman Connor Hayes and junior running back Kevin Rogers have both received interest from schools in the Patriot League, Ivy League and Northeast Conference.

The biggest potential star of the group is current sophomore running back Greg Moore (Class of 2012), who ran for over 1,000 yards this past fall. He has received interest from Rutgers and Temple and recently was invited up to attend the Rutgers spring game, according to Klein.

Neptune, one of Ocean’s future divisional opponents in Class B North, also has several college commitments of its own, according to former coach John Fiore, who stepped down after the season and was approved as the new head coach at Montclair High School.

Senior center Frank Martuscelli will join Ocean’s Bailoni and Limardo at Kean University, defensive tackle Wendell Rainey and offensive guard Wayne Calderone are headed to Springfield (Mass.) College, cornerback Warren Mello has committed to Division I-AA Towson University, and running back/linebacker David Newbey is going to play at Montclair State.

The most high-profile player returning for Neptune is current junior running back/defensive back Charles Davis, who has added an offer from Temple to one from Rutgers. He has said previously that he is leaning hard toward committing to Rutgers but has not made any type of verbal yet.
